Travelers at Charleston International Airport will have the chance to use its new parking area. This 5-tier modern facility alone is capable of at least 3,000 vehicles at any time.

Specifically, it provides several options such as:

  • Hourly Parking Deck;
  • Economy Lot;
  • Valet Parking;
  • Daily Parking Deck; and
  • Cell Phone Waiting.

Charleston International Airport parking is generally affordable relative to other city-based airports. Please check below for specific prices and details for each parking location.

Paying with a Credit Card will be more convenient for customers, but cash payments are also accepted at the facility.

At CHS parking, the following credit cards are generally accepted: Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover.

All published rates include taxes, fees, and the terms and conditions are subject to change without prior notice.

Note that reserved parking, accessible parking, and cell phone lot parking areas are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Finally, passengers may take a photo of the number/letter on the pole closest to their parking spot to help them remember the parking location when returning to the facility.

Credit Cards Payments

When using your credit card, insert the card to capture the entrance date and time. Upon exit, use the same credit card. Please follow instructions at the parking facility.

Cash Payments

A parking staff is also available to process payments in cash. Please follow the signs and instructions at the parking facility.

Accessible Parking / Disabled Veterans Parking

The parking deck is the ideal parking option for persons with disabilities, and it provides accessible parking spaces.

Customers at CHS with special needs who own a handicap placard or other disabled parking permit are entitled to two days of free parking.

Daily Parking Deck

Economy parking is available for those looking for discounted parking. Daily rates vary from $10.00 for Charleston Airport Economy Parking to $21.00 for Valet Parking.

Valet Parking

Charleston Airport Valet Parking is the option if you are in a hurry. It is close to the airport terminal.

This parking facility is available from 4:30 AM to 1:00 AM (or until the last flight).

The daily rate is $21.00.

Hourly Parking Deck

The Hourly Parking Deck is the main 3-level parking garage. There are two floors of covered parking and an open-air third level. It is a very convenient parking structure since customers would be only a short walk away from boarding your plane.

The rate is $1.00 per 20 minutes, and the maximum daily parking rate is $15.

Economy Lot A

Economy Lot A offers proximity and affordability. This is an ideal choice for overnight parking or extended stay.

The rate is $1.00 per 20 minutes, while the maximum daily rate is only $10.00.

Economy Lot B

Economy Lot B also provides the cheapest self-parking spaces at CHS. However, it is the farthest of all available parking facilities. It is situated on the airport loop road.

There is a free shuttle bus service to take you from the parking lot. The daily rate is also $10.00.

Cell Phone Waiting Area

With 80 spaces, the cell phone waiting area assists passengers in picking up their friends or relatives at the airport.

It is on the right-side International Boulevard, just a few meters before you arrive at the airport’s main terminal drop-off area.

Guests can check real-time Airport Arrivals on their phones while you wait for your passenger.

The area is available for free on a first-come, first-served basis.

When deciding to park your vehicle at the airport, remember the following:

  • Leave home and plan to arrive at the airport at least an hour earlier. In that way, you can potentially avoid the likelihood of driving around looking for parking availability. It could also delay your arrival at the departure gate promptly.
  • Check out the airport’s map. Before leaving for the airport, familiarize yourself with terminals, gates, access roads, and parking locations.
  • When traveling with a piece of luggage, be mindful of the distance between the parking location and the terminal gates. Also, look if there are shuttle buses available in your vicinity.
  • Especially during the long holidays, rush hour, and high travel seasons, vehicles at the parking area may cause a jam at the bottleneck at the security checking area and the airport gates.
  • When there are lots of passengers, this also means that the airport shuttle services are slow and overcrowded, packed with people and their luggage.
  • Unannounced security measures can also inconvenience your schedule, and it’s hard to prepare for them.
  • Unannounced maintenance and construction work can mean detours that you will have to take to get to your parking spot at the airport.
  • When traveling with your vehicle to the airport, provide enough time to account for possible delays on the road.
