Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (IATA: MSP) is one of the busiest Airports in the United States. It is within 16 kilometers of both downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission runs the airport and is also in charge of running six other regional airports.

Both terminals are connected to each other by trains and shuttle buses.

The light rail transit (LRT) service at MSP allows passengers to travel between the terminals at no cost.

Trains run between terminals around the clock, seven days a week, with an approximate frequency of every 10 minutes during peak times and every 15 minutes at other times of the day.

Customers who struggle with mobility are eligible to use the complimentary inter-terminal shuttle service offered by MSP. This service transports passengers from one terminal to another.

People who have trouble accessing the Light Rail Transit system, the elderly, families with young children, and other people who have special needs are offered an alternative mode of transportation in the form of the shuttle service.

A wheelchair lift is installed in the van for your convenience. This non-stop, cost-free service departs roughly every 20 minutes, and it is available at any time.

In 2020, its busiest domestic routes were Denver, Colorado; Phoenix–Sky Harbor, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; Chicago–O'Hare, Illinois; Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Seattle/Tacoma, Washington; and Fort Myers, Florida.

The history of this facility began in 1919 when a coalition of local groups took control of the defunct Twin City Speedway racetrack.

Terminal 1 was finished in 1958, and Terminal 2, which was first built in 1986, was remodeled for charter and low-cost airlines in 2001.

Metro light rail transit trains stop at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Both lines connect travelers to 17 other destinations, including downtown Minneapolis to the north and the Mall of America to the south--for $2.00.

A one-way bus fare from the airport to downtown Minneapolis is $2.00.

Passengers arriving at Terminal 2 must take light rail transit to Terminal 1 to access city buses. There is no charge for rail service between Terminals 1 and 2.
