Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport departures are one of the prime concerns of the airport official. Being named as the world’s busiest airport, it has to effectively organize the flight details of the airport that includes systematic coordination of the airline staff and airport personnel. To ensure that it is serving its customers in the best way possible, the airport has designed and developed the ATL Trak-A-Flight. This is an automated flight advisory that passengers can check from time to time to get updates on the changes and other flight advisories.

The ATL Trak-A-Flight provides convenience to passengers waiting at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport departures area. The passenger simply needs to register his flight information and email address in the online form. After a successful registration, the passenger will receive advisory on any changes concerning the status of his flight. In cases of delays, gate changes, or flight cancellation, the passenger will automatically receive an email notification. After the flight has arrived or departed, the advisories will automatically stop.

The subscriber can specify what kind of message he wishes to receive. Short messages are designed specifically to email-capable cellphones and other hand held devices, while long messages are suited to desktop or laptop computers. Passengers who wish to cancel their subscription on the Trak-A-Flight advisories can simply enter their email address in the airport website that accommodates cancellation of the subscription.

Aside from Trak-A-Flight, the airport personnel also developed the Trak-A-Line, this provides the passenger details on the wait times that is required prior to boarding including security check-points. It also requires registration using the passenger’s email. Afterwards, the passenger will receive advisories and notification regarding changes of waiting times. After the passenger boards the plane the notifications will also stop. The passenger can also specify to receive either short or long messages regarding the advisory. Passengers are assured that their email addresses are safe and secured and will only be used for the notification. It is also important to note that wait times does not include times that will be spent on ticketing and checking-in of baggage.

Normal Status of wait times is specified below:

Main Checkpoint 10 minutes or less

North Terminal Checkpoint 10 minutes or less

South Terminal Checkpoint 10 minutes or less

Moreso, passengers are advised to come at least ninety minutes before their scheduled flights to provide ample time going through the security checkpoint and the process of checking-in their baggage.

On the other hand, to get through the Atlanta Hartsfield Departures security checkpoint fast, passengers are advised to observe the following:

  • Passengers are encouraged to arrive 90 minutes before their flights to be able to have enough time to go through the screening process.
  • Checked baggage must be left unlock to avoid the bags from forcedly opened by the transportation security.
  • The Screening Process starts with the checked baggage. The TSA conduct a 100% checking of the baggage, the process is aimed to be delivered as efficiently as possible through the concerted effort of the airlines, the airport personnel, and TSA.
  • Shoes must be removed
  • All outerwear must be removed like jackets, blazers, and coats.

In cases that the passenger alarms the metal detector, an extensive pat-down shall be conducted and the passenger will be subjected to an extensive screening. The process will be verbalized or the passenger can request for a private screening. However, electronic gadgets are allowed and will undergo the usual screening process.

To further ensure the safety of the passengers at Atlanta Hartsfield Departures, the TSA regulates deadly weapons and substances in its airport entry. In cases that it is allowed, the passenger needs to declare it with airport personnel upon check-in. Also, small ammunitions are advised to be securely packed in fiber, metal or wood boxes or any container specifically designed for the ammunition.

Prior to ATL departures, firearms, gun lighters, gun powders, pellet guns, realistic replicas of the firearms, and starter pistols must be checked if the airline company permits carrying of such. Secure the necessary permit for carrying these firearms and present the needed documents of ownership. Also, it is best that passengers checked for any fees that involve carrying of the firearms.

Carrying of self-defense and martial arts items are also regulated in the airport. Billy clubs, brass knuckles, night sticks, nunchakus and throwing stars are advised to be checked in. Self-Defense sprays in 118 ml container are allowed provided that it has its own safety mechanism that will prevent accidental discharge.
