Trains to and from Honolulu International Airport (HNL)

Upon arrival at Honolulu International Airport (HNL), passengers can choose from several ground transportation services, including rental cars, taxis, rideshares, hotel shuttle services, buses, and further out, ferry services.

As of this update, public commuter trains are not yet available on the island.

The airport has 60 gates in three terminals. A shuttle provides inter-terminal transportation between the ticket lobbies of all three terminals and between the concourses in terminals 1 and 2.

The Honolulu Rail Transit Project

The Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project is a light metro system under construction in Honolulu County, Hawaii.

It features design elements from heavy rail systems and light metros, with a commuter-rail-like design incorporated into trains and suburban stations. It will feature platform screen doors and driverless trains.

The project's first phase links East Kapolei on the ʻEwa Plain and Aloha Stadium. It is scheduled to open by the end of 2022.

Its second phase continuing the line across urban Honolulu to the Ala Moana Center, is projected to open in March 2031.
