Enterprise Kansas City International Airport Airport
The busy airport of Kansas City handles over ten million passengers per annum, and is regarded as one of the best airports in North America, according to several satisfaction surveys. In 2010 it was rated as the one of the best medium-sized airports, and obtained five stars in all categories. Its passengers can therefore look forward to a modern and efficient establishment with all the facilities they require. A few forms of ground transportation are available to arriving passengers, however, many prefer to rent a car, from companies such as Enterprise Kansas City International Airport. Other car hire companies available include Thrifty, National, Avis, Budget, Hertz and Europcar.
The airport currently has three terminal buildings that were recently renovated. They are referred to as the Terminals A, B and C, and in each passengers will find several shops, restaurants, restrooms, banking services and a variety of other facilities. In the future, however, the airport could have just one large central building, rather than three decentralized terminals. If this plan is put into place constructions may begin in 2014. For now there are areas for ground transport outside of each building from where the rental car shuttles can be taken, as Enterprise and the other car hire companies of the airport are not found within the terminals. Part of the recent renovations included a new rental car facility a short distance away, that has room for all the vehicles of the companies.
The shuttles are convenient, as they are available every two to five minutes, and are within easy walking distance of the baggage reclaim areas. They are grey in colour, with ‘rental car shuttle’ printed on their sides. The airport ambassadors, dressed in red-brick blazers, can help passengers find the shuttles if necessary. The shuttles are also free of charge, and are able to accommodate a passenger with mobility challenges. Enterprise is open at this airport location from 06:00am to 11:30pm, and therefore shuttles run between the terminals and the car rental facility during these hours. Vehicles from Enterprise are recommended to be reserved in advance. Many find online car rental reservations to be convenient.
Enterprise is known to be the largest car rental company in North America, and one of the most reliable. They offer very reasonable rental rates as well, and excellent customer service. The company is not worldwide, but does offer car rental in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and Ireland. Their vehicles are only of the latest models, in order to ensure their customers maximum quality and safety, and can be hired by category. Vehicle categories which are very popular for five passengers or less include Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard and Fullsize, while the Minivan category is often chosen when up to seven passengers will be travelling. Vehicles in these categories are similar to the Chevy Aveo, Nissan Versa, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra, Ford Fusion, Chevy Impala and Nissan Altima. The Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country are examples of minivans.
The Kansas City International Airport car rental companies hire many luxury cars as well, and SUVs that are equipped with air conditioning, cruise control and CD players. A few of the luxury SUVs, similar to the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade, even have leather interiors, power windows and advanced driver and passenger airbags. SUVs suitable for five passengers include the Ford Escape and Jeep Liberty, and those for up to seven or eight include the GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition. Luxury cars include the Cadillac DTS and Lincoln Towncar, while Pickups available are similar to the Chevy Silverado, Chevy Colorado and Dodge Dakota.
With any of the above mentioned vehicles, customers may request satellite navigation systems and child seats. With certain vehicles, Enterprise’s hand control equipment can be arranged, for a person with a lower limb disability. This device is free of charge, but all other items of equipment will cost a few extra dollars per day of hire. From Kansas City International Airport, hand controls should be reserved in advance, at least forty-eight hours prior to your arrival, as they will need to be fitted to the vehicle. Reserve other items in advance as well, to ensure their availability.
Rented cars are usually collected from the Kansas City International Airport car hire companies, and then returned to the same location, however, other arrangements can be made if the customer is not returning to Kansas City Airport. One way hires are available from Enterprise, that allow another return location to be used. This service could have additional charges, but is sometimes more convenient. Cross-border rentals are sometimes permitted as well, which allow the vehicle to be driven out of the country. Lengthier journeys and the return location of the rented car should also be discussed/confirmed with Enterprise.
To rent a car, you will need to be over the age of 21, and should be in possession of a valid drivers license that has been issued in the United States or Canada. A major credit card such as Visa, MasterCard or American Express will also be required, although a debit card with the Visa or MasterCard logo may often be used for the final payment. Contact Enterprise at Kansas City International Airport if further information is required.
