Alamo Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport is located approximately 25 miles, or 40km from downtown Denver, and is a large airport in the United States of America. The airport handles around 52 million passengers every year, and is therefore considered as the eleventh busiest airport in the world for passenger traffic. DIA is the common abbreviation used for Denver International Airport, while the airport’s official code is DEN. Facilities available include car hire companies, such as Alamo Denver International Airport, and they have car rental counters in the main terminal building. Alamo is well known around the world for their competitive car hire rates, and wide selection of high quality vehicles.
The car rental companies of Denver International Airport are found on Level 5 of the Jeppesen Terminal, which is the level from where all ground transport options are available. The Jeppesen Terminal is the main passenger terminal of the airport, where the check-in counters and baggage reclaim carousels are found. The airport also has three large concourses (A, B and C), where the departure gates are located, and where passengers will arrive. Concourse A is the airport’s international facility, while domestic flights will arrive at Concourses B and C. Alamo’s car rental counters are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Although Alamo has rental counters in the terminal building of Denver International Airport, their offices and vehicles for hire are located at a further distance, and are not reachable on foot. Car rental shuttles therefore provide transport for all passengers who need to reach the Denver International Airport car hire companies. The shuttles leave from Level 5, Island 4 of the airport terminal, from outside doors 505-513 on the east side and from outside doors 504-512 on the west side. Passengers will find shuttles frequently available from outside of the Jeppesen Terminal, and the journey will take only a few minutes. However, sufficient time should be allowed for travelling between Alamo and the airport terminal, especially upon return, so that enough time is available for check-in processes and reaching the correct departure gate. Alamo one way hires could also be arranged, which means that the customer need not return their car to Denver International Airport. One way hire services are not always permitted, therefore confirm your travel arrangements with Alamo as early as possible. It is also always recommended to hire your car online, in advance of your arrival at Denver Airport. Online rentals are often cheaper than direct rentals.
Alamo has provided quality vehicles to leisure travellers for over thirty years, and has become a trusted name in the car rental industry. During their years of service, Alamo has introduced the concept of unlimited mileage and was also the first company to offer online booking opportunities in 1995. Alamo’s website soon grew to include a membership-services section, many useful travel tools, information about the weather, driving directions and children’s activities. As of 2005, Alamo was the only car rental company with an Online Check-in system. Alamo customers can also become members of the Quicksilver Club, and make use of self-service kiosks at many of Alamo’s American rental locations, so there is no need to stop at the rental counters. In general, Quicksilver members enjoy a simplified reservation and rental process, and receive special members-only deals. The membership is free for all Alamo customers, and is available to occasional and frequent renters.
From Alamo, as well as the other Denver International Airport car rental companies, passengers can hire various items of equipment for their rented car. Families travelling with young children, or babies, will need a child seat, as seatbelts are required by law in the United States for all passengers in a vehicle. Let Alamo know the age of your child/children so that the correct size of child seat can be provided. Satellite navigation systems are available as well, and are a wonderful device to have with you no matter whether you are just travelling the city or if you plan to go further than Denver. The GPS units hired by Alamo offer continuous road maps, and a wide range of features that will ensure that you always arrive at your desired destination. Alamo hand controls for disabled drivers can be requested as well, and from Denver International Airport, hand control equipment is free of charge. They should, however, be reserved in advance, as they are only fitted to certain automatic vehicles.
Cars from Alamo, Denver Airport, are arranged into various car groups that can be hired by anyone 25 years of age or older. Younger renters (between the ages of 21 and 24) may also hire from certain vehicle categories, provided they have a valid drivers license and major credit card in their name. The cars usually available to younger drivers are similar to the Chevrolet Aveo, Nissan Versa and Toyota Corolla, which are found in the Economy, Compact and Midsize categories. Larger cars and SUVs such as the Dodge Grand Caravan, Toyota Sienna, Ford Escape, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban and Lincoln Navigator are usually only for hire by persons over the age of 25. Alamo hires Premium and Luxury vehicles as well, similar to the Toyota Avalon and Cadillac DTS, Convertibles like the Ford Mustang and Crossovers similar to the Dodge Journey and GMC Acadia. Groups of more than seven people can hire the Chevrolet Express, a Passenger Van with room for up to fifteen passengers.
