EasyCar San Diego International Airport Airport
San Diego International Airport, located approximately three miles from the city centre of San Diego, has the official IATA code of SAN, and is also known as the Lindbergh Field Airport. It is one of the thirty largest airports in the United States of America, and is even considered as the second busiest single-runway airport in the world. It handles approximately 50,000 passengers per day, on flights that travel to 50 non-stop destinations. Two of the airport’s main airline companies are Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines. The San Diego International Airport car hire companies, such as Easycar, are not found within the terminal buildings, but are nearby, and shuttles are available for the transport of passengers.
The shuttle buses to the car rental companies can be found outside of the baggage reclaim areas of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. They are at the centre traffic aisle of Terminal 1 and at the traffic island on the west end of Terminal 2. International passengers will arrive at Terminal 2, and flights by Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines will arrive at Terminal 1. There is also third terminal building at the airport, but this building is only used for flights between Los Angeles and San Diego. It is known as the Commuter Terminal. Once at the shuttle stop, board the bus and head for Easycar to complete your reservation and to collect your rented car. Advanced and online car rental reservations are suggested for the lowest rates possible and to ensure that your ideal car will be available.
Although cars are not collected from the terminals, there are reservation boards nearby the baggage claim halls, and courtesy telephones should passengers need to call their car hire company. The phones can be used to request a shuttle if there is not one available, or to call an accessible vehicle if travelling with someone who is in a wheelchair. Airport volunteers can help with the location of the shuttle buses, or with any other general airport enquiry.
The entire airport is accessible, as it is built with elevators, pavement ramps and suitable restroom facilities. Easycar hand controls may be available for passengers with lower limb disability as well, and is a device that is free of charge from San Diego International Airport. Hand control equipment should be reserved in advance. Further equipment is available from Easycar as well, but any other item will have additional charges. Child seats are available for families who are travelling with babies or small children, and a satellite navigation system is recommended for anyone who is ‘new’ to the area. The GPS units often come pre-programmed with thousands of points of interest, are able to pinpoint your exact location, offer accurate directions to any location and may have a selection of languages.
Easycar San Diego International Airport is popular for their all-inclusive car rental rates. Passengers will therefore not need to worry about extra hidden costs that will end up being very expensive, however, a few things cannot be included, such as additional equipment hired, young driver surcharges, additional driver surcharges, damage or theft excess charges, fuel and credit card charges. Fuel will need to be purchased for longer rental contracts, and the vehicle may then be returned as empty as possible. Short rentals will not require a fuel purchase, and the vehicle will be returned with a full tank, as it was provided. Included in a rental quote from Easycar, is an online booking discount, unlimited mileage, third party liability insurance, collision damage waiver, theft protection, vehicle licensing fees and location surcharges. Easycar also allows their customers to cancel a reservation free of charge within twenty-four hours of the request, provided that it is also not within forty-eight hours of the agreed vehicle collection time.
Vehicles from the majority of the San Diego International Airport car rental companies are hired on a daily basis, and therefore should be returned at the specified time to avoid an additional day of car rental fees. The vehicle should be brought back in a reasonable condition and will be subject to a check for any new damages. A damage report will need to be completed if any are found. Easycar one way hire may also be arranged, and allow the renter to return the vehicle to a location other than San Diego International Airport. One way hires may be a bit more expensive than an ordinary rental, but may also be more convenient for certain travellers.
Easycar will hire vehicles in the Economy, Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Fullsize, Premium, Standard Convertible, Luxury, People Carrier seven seater and Standard SUV categories to anyone who is 21 years of age or older, provided that they meet the other requirements for car hire, such as being the holder of a valid drivers license and major credit card. Vehicles in these categories include the Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G6, Chevrolet Impala, Buick LaCrosse, Chrysler Sebring, Cadillac DTS, Chevrolet Uplander and Chevy Equinox. Certain SUVs may only be hired by persons 25 years of age or older, and they include the Ford Escape and Dodge Durango. Vehicles only for older renters also include the Toyota Sienna, a people carrier with room for eight passengers.
