Las Vegas Airport is an important airport in the United States of America, handling over 38 million passengers per year. The airport serves the city of Las Vegas, in the state of Nevada, which is to the northeast of California. Las Vegas, although not as large as some in the United States, is well known for its casino attractions, and for many other attractions as well. The airport provides an air gateway for millions of visitors, and for their transport, buses, taxis and car rental companies such as Dollar Las Vegas Airport are available. Dollar is a respected car hire company with rental locations in many countries of the world, and Dollar customers can therefore expect vehicles and service of only the highest quality.
Las Vegas Airport is commonly referred to as the McCarran International Airport, in honour of Pat McCarran, a former Nevada Senator, and is recognised by its airport code of LAS. It consists of two passenger terminals, but will soon have a third, that will be dedicated to international arrival and departure flights. Terminal 1 is the main building of the airport, handling the majority of passengers and flights, and is large with four concourses, known as A, B, C and D. Terminal 2 is currently used by international passengers and by passengers arriving on charter flights. The Las Vegas Airport car hire companies are not found in the terminal buildings, but at a new location, about three miles from the airport facilities. The new, consolidated Car Rental Centre is at 7135 Gilespie Street, and can be accessed by free shuttle services. Dollar is found at the rental car facility of the airport, and is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
The shuttle buses that travel to the Car Rental Centre of Las Vegas Airport are available approximately every five minutes, and can be taken from outside Exit Doors 10 or 11. Although the journey is quick, passengers are recommended to allow plenty of time for travelling to the car hire companies, and to especially allow time for travelling back to the airport, in order not to be late for a departure flight. Unless a Dollar one way hire is arranged, the rental cars will be returned to 7135 Gilespie Street, and a shuttle bus can be taken to the Las Vegas Airport. One way hires allow the customer to return their car to a different rental location, should they only be going ‘one-way’. Always confirm with Dollar to where the rented car may be driven, and if additional charges are applicable for the service.
Dollar’s large selection of vehicles are all late model cars, considered to be in excellent mechanical condition. They come in various categories, and each category contains vehicles of a certain type or size. Customers who need a simple car that is not too expensive will find the Economy, Compact or Midsize categories ideal, with cars such as the Chevrolet Aveo, Ford Focus and Dodge Avenger. These cars have room for five passengers and can store two or three luggage items. Standard, Fullsize, Premium and Luxury cars are slightly larger, and similar to the Ford Fusion, Ford Taurus, Ford Crown Victoria and the Buick Lacrosse. A Premium car is ideal for more prestigious occasions. An interesting choice from Dollar is the Lock Low and Go Specialty category, and if this category is chosen, the customer will receive a Compact or larger vehicle at a low rental rate. Dollar will choose the vehicle on behalf of the customer at the time of vehicle collection.
Many larger cars are available from Dollar as well, in the Minivan, SUV and Midsize Open Air All Terrain categories. The Dodge Caravan is an example of a Minivan seating seven, the Ford Escape is a Midsize SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a Standard SUV and the Chevrolet Tahoe is a Fullsize SUV, able to seat seven passengers. An example of a Premium SUV is the Chevrolet Suburban. The Jeep Wrangler seats four, and is found in the Midsize Open Air all Terrain category. Customers travelling with small children should hire a child seat from Dollar, and anyone who is unfamiliar with the roads in Las Vegas will benefit from hiring a satellite navigation system. These items will have extra charges either per day of rental or per rental contract. Child seats are also available in various sizes, therefore specify the age of your child so that Dollar can reserve the correct size for your needs.
The majority of cars hired from the Las Vegas Airport car rental companies have automatic transmissions, and these are also the types of cars that are used when hand controls for disabled drivers are requested. Dollar hand control equipment is ideally used by persons with a lower limb disability, as they are designed to operate the brake and accelerator pedals of the vehicle. The device may also include a steering wheel knob for additional assistance. From the rental location of Las Vegas Airport, hand controls are free of charge, but best reserved well in advance of your arrival.
Dollar offers a range of car rental services for their customers, at all their car hire stations around the world. The Dollar Express membership is ideal for frequent renters who are fond of Dollar’s services, and is free of charge. Dollar Express members will enjoy priority counter service, and have the opportunity to earn free rental days with the Renter Rewards Program. Dollar allows long-term rentals as well, with their Multi-Month Rental Program. Cars may be hired for up to eleven months by customers with a corporate account.
