Las Vegas Airport is an important airport in the United States of America that is currently handling over 38 million passengers per annum. It is therefore rated as the 22nd largest airport in the world for passenger traffic. The airport is located approximately 5 miles from the central business district of Las Vegas city, and in the area of Paradise. Las Vegas Airport is also known as the McCarran International Airport, and by the code of LAS. Europcar Las Vegas Airport is one of the car hire companies of the airport, and is a popular choice of car rental company for business or leisure vehicles. Europcar customers have many car categories from which to choose, and will always receive a quality vehicle at competitive car rental rates.
Europcar at Las Vegas International Airport is found at the Car Rental Centre, on Gilespie Street. The Car Rental Centre is a new facility of the airport that opened in 2007, and where all the Las Vegas Airport car hire companies are now located. Since that Europcar is about three miles from the airport terminals, passengers will need to catch one of the free airport shuttles to reach the rental counters and to collect their vehicles. The shuttles are available approximately every five minutes from Exit Doors 10 and 11, and run twenty-four hours a day. They are also accessible to disabled passengers. Although Europcar is one of the car hire companies of the airport, passengers will need to collect their vehicle from the National car hire counters. National is part of a strategic global alliance with Europcar, and together these two companies form the largest car rental network in the world.
The car rental companies of Las Vegas Airport are open twenty-four hours a day, and provide many vehicles for their customers. All Europcar’s vehicles are divided into various car categories, and are therefore hired accordingly, and not by specific make and model. Customers who would prefer cheaper rental rates will find the Economy, Compact and Midsize categories to be ideal, with cars such as the Chevrolet Aveo, Nissan Versa and Toyota Corolla. These cars have automatic transmissions, and have room for four or five passengers and an item or two of luggage. Larger vehicles are hired from the Standard and Fullsize categories, and may be similar to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Impala. Europcar offers a nice range of Premium and Luxury vehicles as well, that may include the Toyota Avalon and the Cadillac DTS.
Europcar has many other categories that contain large SUVs, Crossovers, Minivans and Pickups, and these cars could be ideal for passengers arriving at Las Vegas Airport. SUVs are very popular for hire in the United States, and generally provide a comfortable ride no matter the distance travelled. The Ford Escape is a Midsize SUV and the Jeep Grand Cherokee is found in the Standard SUV category. Two larger SUVs available are the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban, with room for seven passengers. Crossovers include the Dodge Journey and GMC Acadia, Pickups are similar to the Chevrolet Silverado and a Minivan for seven is the Dodge Grand Caravan.
The Las Vegas Airport car rental companies have certain terms and conditions that need to be noted, for example, minimum age requirements, driving license regulations and payment terms and conditions. In general, the primary renter (and additional drivers listed on the rental contract) will need to be at least 21 years of age, and should present a valid drivers license and credit card at the start of the rental. A hold will be placed on the credit card for the estimated total charges of the rental, which will not be available for use until the rental has been paid by the customer at the end of the rental period. A debit card may also be used for this purpose by renters older than 25, but then an additional $200.00 could be held. The drivers license of the renter should have been issued in the United States, however, foreign renters are also permitted to hire vehicles from Europcar, provided that other documents are supplied. Canadian-endorsed drivers licenses are also usually accepted.
Europcar one way hires are arranged by customers who are travelling one way, and who will not be returning to Las Vegas Airport. One way hires could incur extra charges, depending on the return location chosen for the vehicle, and vehicles from Europcar may only be permitted into certain nearby states, and may not be driven to all parts of America. Further enquiries will need to be made by customers who would like to travel out of the country, as a cross-border rental will need to arranged. The car hire companies sometimes only allow certain vehicle categories to be chosen when a one-way hire is requested.
Similar to all car hire companies, Europcar offers a few additional items of equipment that can be hired. Parents of young children can hire car seats for their little passengers, and anyone who is unfamiliar with the Las Vegas road network can hire a satellite navigation system. Car seats or booster seats for older children are required by law in the United States, as all passengers in a vehicle should be wearing a seatbelt. These items will have extra charges, but Europcar hand controls for disabled drivers are free of charge, and available for hire by persons with a lower limb disability. From Las Vegas Airport, hand controls will need to be reserved a few days in advance of your arrival.
Europcar, Las Vegas Airport, will be happy to assist with further car rental enquiries, and are sure to have the ideal car for your holiday or business trip in Nevada.
